A Celebration of the Circle
It’s not every day we are asked to make a kitchen in a circular room, but when the client’s kitchen is in a windmill it proved to be the start of a rather special commission. Being sociable people, the brief was to create a space that would be used as much for living and socialising as it would for cooking. The resulting curved cabinet work to both the walls and island unit, with integrated seating around the fire, created a cosy space that fulfilled the brief perfectly. Galvanised conduit for the electrics, a polished concrete floor, copper worktops and an iron hoop light feature (formally a cartwheel) brought the building’s industrial past into the present day.
